Closing and prize-giving ceremony of children drawing contest “My countryside in the new day” in 2014

     On September 14th 2014, under the instruction of  The HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the closing and prize-giving ceremony “My countryside in the new day” in 2014 was held in the General Sciences Library. It is the useful art playground for children in 56 communes of the new countryside development project in Ho Chi Minh City.

    The final round of the contest was held in 5 districts (Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Can Gio) with the participation of 600 children chosen from communes of the new countryside from August 2nd to August 16th. Children’s paintings expressed hope and belief of the new countryside with electricity, schools, road, station and cultural institutions for the spiritual life of local inhabitants. Besides, children have sent their deep feelings on the national sacred sea and islands. Board of examiners chose 112 individual prizes, 30 team prizes which were the beautiful paintings of good material, interesting title and creative idea.

    The closing and prize-giving ceremony was held with the presence of Mr Nguyen Van Minh - Prime Director of The HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism – Project manager, representatives of the cultural centers and communes of new countryside, art teachers, parents and children who won the prizes.

    Besides the awards, children were given the nice and formal painting books “My countryside in the new day” in 2014, which kept children’s accumulated feeling expressed through their paintings.
